Cam Washisko

Legal Research and Writing

Hi,

I'm Cameron

Hi, I’m Cameron Washisko I am a Senior at Burlington High School. I like to mess around with PCs and play video games. I’m also interested in building PCs. I decided to join Help Desk because I like, and am good at helping people (thus why I chose Help Desk). I also think that it is important that everyone in the building has the same service as one another to get their highest potential in the classroom. I also joined Help Desk to boost my knowledge in new technology that will be big in my life in the future. In the upcoming future I’m interested in pursuing some type of business major when I’m in college. Something I also could do is something in computer science. Things to know about are I’m an only child. I love to be active whether that’s working in the gym or playing basketball with my friends. I’m a hard worker in and out of the classroom. Lastly, I have been working a Dunkin Donuts for the past three months so I have experience helping people. I’m excited to expand my knowledge on technology and to help my peers.

weeks 1-4

In the Woods

When we got back from summer 2019 we entered our senior year energetic and excited. We entered help desk with an open mind about technology/coding. During our first week we learned about drones. We took 4 drones to flight. The first being the Maverick Pro which was the biggest of the 4. then we took the Maverick air out to fly. This drone took videos and pictures of our activity. Hand motions can control the way the drone moves either up or down, or left to right. Then a week past, and we started to learn about code. We used processor to create different codes for music, and games. As another activity we used Sonic Pi. We used these to play games. Lastly we played around with Drop mix. This is a card game that is used to create music. That covers what we mostly did through the first few weeks. and I'm excited for whats to come.

Weeks 5-10

During these three weeks we have worked on 2 core assignments. The first being a website called Talentbox (https://talentbox.app/). In this website there are all sorts of different kinds of topics you could pursue. Some of the students choose 2D and 3D gaming. I thought that was one of the more difficult topics, so instead i went into architecture. In this I created a few different rooms by dragging and clicking on different objects. I liked the experience and highly recommend this site to students who want to learn about these types of things. The second project we worked on were the Arduino circuit boards/ Micro processor https://www.arduino.cc/.  These devices have all sorts of ways to be programmed. Some maybe as simple as just turning on a light, others are more complex such as the Knock Lock which you can wire to make own code to keep other people from using it. These small ( but useful) devices are great for young learners trying to dip there feet into creating circuit boards. I have enjoyed these past three weeks and hope to learn even more.
